Students who did not submit letters to administrators on Friday need to turn them in by the end of the day for late credit. Letters will not be accepted for credit after today (except in the even of excused absences on Friday and Monday).
Students will be taking a quiz over Borger’s syllabus and the SHS Student Handbook.
Students will also take a pre-test to assess SLO’s (Student Learning Objectives) for the school year per the new State Teacher Evaluation rules.

If you don’t get done – save to your F: drive or email it to yourself and get it to Borger by Monday, 08/31/2015. This is a double-homework grade of 50 points.
Prompt: Write a letter to the “you” at the end of this school year.
Discussion of Prompt: Write a letter to the “you” you think you’ll be at the end of this school year. You can focus on where you’re at right now, discuss anxieties and fears you have as well as what things are currently making you happy and excited. Talk about what you hope to get out of this, your junior year & what you think your senior year will hold. Discuss the obstacles and challenges you might face this year. You can also bring in situations outside of school, but be careful about self-disclosure: although this letter is to “you,” I will also be reading it. Put yourself into dialogue with yourself, recognizing that both “yous” are different people. Language and grammar can be informal (use your own voice and language – you’ll know if you were faking it when you read this letter again in May). Follow block letter format but leave the inside address off. Just include your own address at the top, the date, then open & compose your letter.
We will be composing these in the computer lab on Monday August 24th. Letters will be due Tuesday, August 25th at the end of class.
Once you get finished with your letter, pick five of the questions / rules from the students hand book review list and answer them – bring your responses with you to class on Wednesday, August 26th. Be prepared to take a quiz over Borger’s syllabus and the school rules at either Thursday or Friday this week.
